After stepping away from bike manufacturing in 2013, legendary bike builder Ben Serotta is back with a new bike building venture. Serotta Design Studio, located in Saratoga, New York, was quietly started mid last year, and now has officially opened for orders through a new website and two distinct brands: the aModoMio, and the Duetti. Serotta says these offerings have been optimized for 90 percent of the riding that 90 percent of today’s road cyclists enjoy.

The aModoMio (Italian for my way) C-18 is exactly what most would expect from Serotta—a fully custom, made-to-order, Columbus-manufactured Colorado Concept steel frame, paired with a new custom Serotta CC-DB1 full carbon fork. Buy the bike and you get a one-on-one interview with Ben Serotta, who will measure you for a truly custom fit based on his vast fit expertise. A complete aModoMio ranges in price from $7,595 to $14,995 with disc or rim brake options, and a current lead-time of 10 weeks.

Starting at just $4,695, the Duetti is a complete assembled-to-order bicycle that Serotta calls a "forward-thinking road machine". Its Taiwanese-made aluminum frame comes in 11 different sizes, helping to provide a near-custom fit without the additional cost. Like the aModoMio, it comes with the CC-DB1 full carbon fork. All the Duetti bikes come with thru-axles and hydraulic disc brakes, along with mechanical and electronic drivetrain options.
