Tokyo Paralympics: Medals and world records for ParalympicsGB on day three

Britain's athletes have won 23 medals in the first three days of the Tokyo Paralympics.

So far, ParalympicsGB have won eight gold medals, eight silver medals and seven bronze.

They are currently second in the world, just behind China.

GB gold medal winners include Hannah Russell retaining her S12 100m backstroke title, wheelchair fencer Piers Gilliver and one of Britain's most decorated para-athletes and Lee Pearson, who won his 12th Paralympics gold medal in dressage.

Kadeena Cox kept her Paralympic title in the C4-5 500m cycling on day three.

She said: "I tried not to cry on the podium, I tried to enjoy this moment."

In the pool, Hannah Russell took home gold after a strong contest with Russian Daria Pikalova in the S12 100m backstroke.

In the velodrome, Jaco van Gass claimed his second medal of the Games with bronze in the C1-3 1000m time trial.

And the bronze medals didn't stop there on day three with sprinter Maria Lyle and powerlifter Olivia Broome successful.
