Former welterweight champion Carlos Baldomir (49-16-6, 15 KOs) has just been convicted in his trial where he stood accused of sexually abusing his own daughter. The abuse reportedly took place from the time the girl was seven years old and lasted a couple of years, with the allegations of sexual abuse first being reported by his ex-wife, who is the mother of the victim.

WBN reports that Baldomir had been formally accused in court of ‘Severely qualified outrageous sexual abuse’ in his native Argentina, and at the conclusion of his the trial Baldomir was found guilty and sentenced to 18 years in prison. Now age 48, Baldomir is expected to be well into his 60s before he’s eligible for parole.

Baldomir was best known to boxing fans for his big fights against Arturo Gatti, Zab Judah, Floyd Mayweather, and even Canelo Alvarez over the years, but will now likely be infamously remembered for these horrific crimes.
