Celtic’s interest in Elis is dismissed

Hopes that Celtic could make a move for Alberth Elis have been dampened down.

Stephen McGowan of the Daily Mail has a better track record than most when it comes to Celtic transfers and has dismissed the prospects of the Houston Dynamo forward arriving in Glasgow.

Elis is a Honduran internationalist and appears to match the profile of prospective Celtic signings. Emilio Izaguirre has made Celtic known to Honduran football fans and players with Elis keen to move to Europe.

With Brendan Rodgers looking to bring in two strikers the 22-year-old would seem a likely target but it appears that Vakoun Issouf Bayo is the number one target.

Reports of a £2m final offer to Dunajska Streda for their striker haven’t as yet brought about any response.

Oliver Burke and Timothy Weah are expected to join Celtic in Dubai this week but hoops fans are anxiously waiting on the arrival of a striker, central defender and right back ready to go straight into the side.
