Report suggests Celtic could lose teen talents Daniel Kelly and Barry Hepburn

Celtic are at risk of losing two of their top young talents to Champions League-chasing or competing sides in both England and Germany.

The two players in question are Daniel Kelly and Barry Hepburn. As reported by the Glasgow Evening Times, 15-year-old Kelly has been offered a multi-year professional deal at the club with Celtic of the belief he can become a future first-team player.

However, his impressive performances with the Celtic youth teams has seen several top Premier League sides take notice. Tottenham and Chelsea, who both played in the Champions League this season, are said to be keen on his services. Manchester United and Leicester City, both currently fighting for Champions League football for next season are also interested. Arsenal, who snapped up Kieran Tierney from Parkhead last summer, make up the long list of top English clubs who want Kelly.

Hepburn’s interest comes from Germany. The GET suggests that the 16-year-old is expected to follow fellow Celtic academy alumni Liam Morrison in heading to Bavarian giants Bayern Munich.

If Celtic were to lose both players it would be a massive blow to the club who have developed some excellent young talents in recent years.

Celtic fans will be hoping the promise of an easier pathway to regular first-team football might see the club convince the duo to remain.
