Report: PSG hoping to beat Everton to the signing of Ajax winger David Neres

Everton have made contact over the signing of Ajax winger David Neres but face competition from three European giants, according to UOL Esporte.

Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid and AC Milan are three other clubs hoping to win the race for Neres this summer.

All four teams have held talks over a potential deal. Neres has been impressive for Ajax this season and it is no surprise to see a multi-club chase for his services.

The Brazil international joined Ajax from Sao Paulo in summer 2016 and he scored 14 goals in 32 Eredivisie games last season.

This season, Neres has continued to impress, racking up eight strikes in 29 Eredivisie games and four more in other competitions.

His Champions League goals against Real Madrid and Juventus were particular highlights this season. And this has clearly caught the eye of these potential suitors.

Everton are hoping to add some new players to their squad to push on next season. After an eighth-place finish, Marco Silva will be targeting European qualification and a better domestic cup run.

Neres would be an ideal addition. The 22-year-old is young, skilful, quick and an exciting prospect for now and for the future.

But the Toffees face a battle for his services. PSG’s talks are said to be ‘advanced’ while other teams are in the chase for Neres.
