Sam Allardyce tells talkSPORT he has pulled out of running for Everton job

Sam Allardyce has told talkSPORT he is no longer interested in the Everton job.

The ex-England boss emerged as a leading contender to take charge at Goodison Park after Ronald Koeman's sacking in October.

Allardyce, who left Crystal Palace in May, had expressed an interest in holding talks with the Merseyside club.

But the 63-year-old says hesitancy from Everton over whether to offer him the role has resulted in him pulling out of the running.

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, Allardyce said: "It never materialised as I thought it would unfortunately.

"For me, such a long time without a decision, I had to make a decision myself.

"The decision is that it is probably better it wasn't me.

"It is a fabulous football club. It would have been a fabulous job, but it just didn't feel right.

"I think when you're sat in my position you want people to be decisive and feel like they want you. I didn't quite get that feeling overall. They were hesitating that I was the man."

'If Everton want Marco Silva from Watford, they should pay whatever is needed and get it done', Richard Dunne says
