Liverpool consider £30m Todd Cantwell transfer after Norwich midfielder impressed Anfield chiefs… but Manchester United are also keen
Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a summer move for Todd Cantwell after the Norwich midfielder impressed playing against the Anfield club on Saturday.
The 21-year-old has shined for the rock-bottom Canaries this season with six goals and two assists and has emerged as one of Daniel Farke's most important players.
According to The Athletic, Liverpool have ramped up their interest in Cantwell after he delivered an assured performance in midfield as Norwich were defeated 1-0 by the table-topping Reds at Carrow Road over the weekend.
However, Cantwell is also attracting interest from other Premier League sides including Manchester United, who are ready to battle their fierce rivals for his services.
It is believed Norwich will demand at least £30million for Cantwell, regardless of whether they stay in the Premier League or not.
The playmaker is currently tied down at Carrow Road until 2022 and the Norfolk club will be under no pressure to sell the midfielder for a reduced fee, especially given Tottenham and Manchester City are also tracking his progress.
Three of Cantwell's six goals this season have come against Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal - and the youngster idolises Lionel Messi, who has overcome severe growth problems to become one of the best players of all time.
Cantwell recently said: "You definitely need self-belief and confidence, but there is a very fine line between that and arrogance. I would like to think I sit on the other side of that."
