David de Gea mistake gifts Watford goal in crazy few minutes as Manchester United fail to keep clean sheet again
David de Gea had an afternoon to forget at Vicarage Road.
The Manchester United goalkeeper, perhaps getting into the spirit of giving at Christmas time, gifted Watford an opening goal in their Premier League match by allowing Ismaila's Sarr shot to slip through his hands.
It means De Gea has now gone 13 successive Premier League games without keeping a clean sheet.
It's the longest run of his career and, just minutes after the mistake, he saw Troy Deeney slam home a penalty past him - conceding both shots he had faced on target in the game up to that point.
He could do little about Deeney's penalty, with the Watford striker smashing the ball past him to double the hosts' lead and seal all three points after Aaron Wan-Bissaka brought down Sarr.
However, De Gea's stats do not make for pretty reading.
Since the start of the 2018/19 season, no player has made more errors leafing to goals than the Spain no.1's six mistakes.
