Wayne Rooney wants Man United return with aim to take coaching role when he retires from playing
Wayne Rooney is reportedly considering a move into coaching at the end of his playing career and wants to return to Manchester United.
The 33-year-old is currently playing with DC United in MLS but is said to already be looking towards the future.
He is still under contract with the Washington-based club until 2020 but is weighing up his options.
The Red Devils' record goalscorer is said to be keen on joining Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s staff once he hangs up his boots.
A source told The Sun: “Wayne is already looking to the future and wants to remain in the game.

"He also wants to keep his family together and to do what is best for Coleen and their boys.
“So a job at United would be perfect. Wayne would like to one day move into coaching.
"Long-term, he would love to be a part of what Ole is creating.”
A separate source said: “Wayne is doing his coaching badges but is happy at DC United and has an option to stay beyond his current contract. So nothing will happen for a while.”
Rooney joined DC United in 2018 and has gone on to score 25 goals in 44 games.
