Liverpool and Manchester United are just two of seven Premier League clubs to make the top 15 clubs in Europe with the biggest wage bills.

The Red Devils have splurged big wages on Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez in the last two years in a bid to reclaim their place at the top of English football.

With Jose Mourinho's men sitting in eighth this time around, he is yet to see any significant development from his side. Conversely, Manchester City are riding high at the top of the league once again.

They are joined by Chelsea and Arsenal, with the London giants backing their new managers with new signings in the summer.

Liverpool spent big to bring in Naby Keita and Alisson Becker from Germany and Italy respectively, while Tottenham Hotspur sealed new contracts for Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Heung-Min Son in the past six months.

According to British business blogger The Swiss Ramble, Leicester City also join their Premier League counterparts in having one of the biggest wages bills in Europe.
