Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas hints at potential return to Arsenal

Fabregas played for the Gunners for eight years before joining Barcelona in 2011 and his current deal with Chelsea expires at the end of the season

Cesc Fabregas has hinted he would be open to a return to Arsenal when his deal at Chelsea runs out at the end of the season.

The midfielder, 31, spent eight years with the Gunners, winning the FA Cup in 2005 before moving to Barcelona in August 2011.

Fabregas then came back to the Premier League three years later to join Chelsea - a move that outraged Gooners.

And although he has had a successful career at Stamford Bridge, he is yet to start a Premier League game for the Blues this season.

It is understood he is unlikely to get offered a new deal and could even leave when the transfer window opens in January.

He has attracted interest from all sorts of clubs across Europe but admits a return to north London would be difficult to turn down.

"Arsenal will always be in my heart and I will never forget them so why not return. You never know,” he told Marca.

"I feel fine still. In seven months my contract ends with Chelsea.

"It will be 16 seasons playing at the highest level, over 750 games, a lot of training, travelling...

"I feel young and strong but maybe I can't do 60 games a season.

"With my style I think I can keep playing for longer and obviously I want to keep playing for many years."
