Former Alabama Heisman-winning running back Mark Ingram will be joining his third NFL team after agreeing to a one-year deal with the Houston Texans, as first reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Ingram was first drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft. After eight seasons with the Saints, Ingram then signed with the Baltimore Ravens, where he spent the last two seasons as a veteran leader.

In 2020, Ingram had 72 carries for 299 yards and two touchdowns.

Now, Ingram will play for a Houston Texans team that is in crisis mode. A new head coach, a new front office and numerous departures headline the upcoming 2021 Texans.

Ingram’s deal with Houston is for one season, with a value that could go as high as $3 million.

There’s no word yet on what kind of role he will serve for the team, as they still retain last year’s starting running back, David Johnson.
