This is the terrifying moment a driver jumped a red light before crashing into a wall and climbing out of the mangled vehicle with a toddler.

In the footage, captured on a motorbike’s camera, a blue MG ZR can be seen speeding through the red signal at an alarming speed.

But only moments later, the car can be seen crumpled against a set of railings – with the driver appearing to pull a little boy from the wreckage while a female passenger climbs out of the vehicle.

The crash happened in Blackburn Road, Bolton on Friday, October 30 – and Greater Manchester Police have now launched an investigation to trace the driver.

They believe that the driver was also involved in another collision in Egerton Road, near Belmont, Lancashire.

In a statement, a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: ‘At around 4.30pm on Friday 30th October 2015, we received reports of a vehicle which was driving erratically, hit a number of other vehicles in both Bolton and Lancashire and then crashed near to the war memorial, Darwen Road, Bromley Cross.’

‘The vehicle was a blue MG, registration MM03 UGG.

‘Officers attended, however a female and a male carrying a young child made off from the scene.

‘We are very keen to identify the man who was driving this vehicle.

‘We urge anyone who may know him, or have any information about the incident to contact us directly.’

The man driving the vehicle is white, in his early 20s, 5ft 8 and of stocky build.

He also had a shaved head, a tattoo on his neck and was wearing a grey tracksuit.
