Huddersfield Town have confirmed the news that Chief Executive Julian Winter is set to vacate his role early next year after three and a half years at the club.

Winter was appointed to the role back in April 2016, with the former Huddersfield player arriving at the John Smith's Stadium after previously holding similar positions at Sheffield United and Watford.

The club achieved some success during Winter's time at the helm by achieving promotion to the Premier League in 2017, but they suffered relegation last term and have struggled to re-adapt to life in the Championship so far.

The Terriers are currently sitting rock-bottom of the second tier after failing to win a game all season, with this run of form seeing them replace former boss Jan Siewert with Danny Cowley earlier this month.

Huddersfield shared news of Winter's departure via their Twitter account on Wednesday morning:

Plenty of Huddersfield supporters responded to the announcement, with many of them expressing their relief that Winter is set to vacate his position.
