The Killers 'gutted' by bad sound at Glastonbury

Guitarist Dave Keuning admits it was 'disappointing' that he and his band were unable to pulverise the crowd with their music

The Killers have finally spoken out about the sound problems that disrupted their headlining slot during this year's Glastonbury festival. In a word, they are "gutted".

The band's guitarist Dave Keuning told NME.com, "We could tell it was vastly underpowered. It could have been better in that respect." He added: "We were a little bit gutted. You have so many thousands of people, you should be able to send them home after hearing a pulverising sound, and that wasn't the case. It was disappointing."

The sound for the Pyramid stage at this year's festival was the talk of Glastonbury, with cries of "Turn it up!" audible throughout the Killers' Saturday performance. Festival organiser Michael Eavis originally blamed a new sound system, but later retracted his statement and admitted weather conditions and pressure from the council to keep the noise down led to the sound being unusually low for the main stage.
