Scott Hogan could feature for Aston Villa against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.
Steve Bruce has confirmed in the Birmingham Mail that Aston Villa’s Scott Hogan is back in training.
Hogan has been out for the entirety of the season so far with injury, but he is pushing closer to a return.
Bruce expects Hogan to be back in time for Villa’s match against Blackburn Rovers at the weekend.
“He’s back out on the grass now and we’re hoping he will be back after the international break,” the claret and blues boss said.
Hogan is unlikely to start for Villa at Ewood Park, but he does add competition for places up-front.
Bruce now has plenty of options to pick from, with Jonathan Kodjia and Tammy Abraham both also at Villa Park.
Hogan looks likely to play a reserve role for Villa this term, but he does offer a good option for Bruce off the bench.
Villa are under pressure to beat Blackburn at the weekend, as they have disappointed in recent weeks, and went into the international break on the back of a 4-1 defeat to Sheffield United.
