HITC Sport understands Bradford defender Matt Kilgallon could be set for a move to Scotland.
Bradford City defender Matt Kilgallon is in line for a move to Scottish Premiership side Hamilton, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Kilgallon has been frozen out of the first-team picture at Bradford this season despite being named the club’s player of the year last season.
The 34-year-old, who was club captain last season, has not featured in a Bradford squad so far this season under new manager Michael Collins.
Kilgallon made 46 appearances in all competitions for Bradford last season and his omission from the first-team this term has come as something of a major surprise.
The former Leeds and Sunderland defender is entering the final year of his contract at Bradford and Hamilton are ready to offer the central defender a route out of Valley Parade.
Hamilton boss Martin Canning revealed after Sunday’s narrow defeat to Celtic he hoped to add three more new signings before Friday’s transfer deadline in Scotland and Kilgallon could be one of the new arrivals.
Cannning sees Kilgallon’s experience as being a valuable addition to his squad, as they look to avoid a fight for survival this season in the Scottish Premiership.
