Talking and singing sex robot deemed a ‘game changer’

A new sex robot that can speak, smile and even sing – all with the push of a button – is being hailed as a “game-changer” that will hit shelves next year.

The DS Doll Robotic Head has a “stunningly beautiful face” and can listen and respond to questions using voice recognition software, the Scotsman reported Wednesday.

“This is revolutionary. It’s a game-changer from a gamer’s perspective. It’d be like a new console being released,” said Paul Lumb, the head of Cloud Climax.

The price of the “Bugatti Veyron of VR” prototype – which is covered in silicone “skin” — is about $5,870 and manufacturers are hoping it’ll be on sale in the UK at the end of 2018.

The life-like doll head, which can be controlled with a smartphone or PlayStation controller, is made by Doll Sweet Dolls and EX Doll and can be used on the companies’ other doll bodies.

It will only speak in Chinese for now – the companies are working on a crowd-funding campaign to produce dolls that speak English and Japanese.

Still, Lumb said the market is years away from producing actual working sex robots.

“EX Dolls have been working on a robotics head since 2014, but we’re generations away from a Terminator-style cyborg,” he said.

Lumb said the prototype is the “next level of very natural realism.”

“The skeleton can be posed and moved, and the head an be interacted with, but there’s not full body movement and it’s just an enhancement to what we’re currently selling,” he added.
