According to West London Sport, Queens Park Rangers are weighing up a swoop for Fulham striker Matt Smith as they continue to explore striker options ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

With time running out before the January transfer window slams shut, QPR are considering a move for Smith, who is currently on the fringes of local neighbours Fulham's squad.

The 27-year-old joined Fulham from Leeds in 2014 but has not managed to nail down a regular starting place in the side since his arrival.

The towering centre forward is renowned for his hold up play, aerial ability and physical strength.

He has 9 goals in 53 appearances for the Cottagers, although the majority of those have come as a substitute.

QPR are considering Smith after they saw another bid rejected for Rotherham marksman Danny Ward.

Ian Holloway is keen to bolster his options up front, especially after Sebastian Polter left to return to Germany and join FC Union Berlin earlier this month.

QPR fans - would Smith be a good signing? Would you rather sign him or Ward? Can you get a new striker before the window shuts?

Fulham fans - would you sell to QPR? Does Smith have a future at Craven Cottage?
