Newcastle United and Brighton & Hove Albion are the two leading contenders to sign Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham.
According to a report in The Argus, Newcastle United are worried that their location could count against them in the race to sign Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.
Newcastle are in a battle with Brighton & Hove Albion for the youngster, who they are keen to snap up on loan.
However, location could count against them in any deal – as Abraham would have to relocate to play for them.
A move to Brighton would be far more convenient for Abraham, and Newcastle are concerned this could see them miss out.
The Daily Mail claimed that the Magpies were confident of sealing Abraham’s transfer last weekend, but those reports may now have been premature.
Indeed, Brighton are set to step up their interest in the coming days, as they look to bring Abraham in.
Abraham smashed in 26 goals for Bristol City last season, with his form in the Championship impressing.
Newcastle and Brighton are both keen to strengthen their forward lines, following promotion to the Premier League.
