Middlesbrough Amateur Swimming Club (MASC) welcomed Worshipful Brother Jim Cave and Worshipful Brother Ian Robson from the North York Lodge 602  to thank them in person for their Lodges generous donation to their scheme.

The local Freemasons were taken on a tour of the training facilities at ‘The Neptune Centre’ and witnessed a land training session in the gym, led by Head Coach Marcin, before heading down to the pool to watch the beginning of a two hour swim session. Both Jim and Ian were impressed to see the dedication and hard work of the swimmers, the coaching team, and commented on the importance of supporting clubs like MASC and the great work they do with the community which enables generations of youngsters to develop lifelong skills and memories of their own. It is a reminder to us all, just how important these clubs are, and the far reaching impact they have on those in our community. The Chairperson of MASC, Simon Morris, expressed his thanks for the charitable donation from the North York Lodge 602 and explained that it would go towards supporting the MASC Hardship Fund and help children who without this sort of help, would find it difficult, to continue in the sport they love. It’s worth noting that Middlesbrough Amateur Swimming Club has been in existence since 1886, a mere thirty three years after North York Lodge was founded.
