CONGRATULATIONS!

Huge congratulations to Isabel Jones, Kady Jones, Ela Hâf Williams and Cara Williams on their selection for the North Area Squad.
This is the first time that Ynys Môn Gymnastic Club have had 4 girls chosen for squad and we are delighted.  The girls will train once a month with the North Area Squad under National Coach, Tina Williams.

North Area Boys Beginner & Intermediate Championships 2016

Fantastic day of competition at the North Area Boys Floor and Vault Championship. This was the first time competing as part of our new boys squad. So many medals and ribbons won and lots of new skills competed – keep up the excellent work boys!

DOUBLE VAULT CHAMPIONS!

Our Level 6 & 5 finalists all competed brilliantly at the Welsh Final in Cardiff with huge congratulations going to Mabli Grieves-Owen and Bryony Tatlock for each becoming the Welsh Vault Champions in Level 6 & 5 respectively.  Congratulations girls!

New Disability Class Time

The new time for our Disability Class is 3.15pm-4pm every Saturday.

LEVEL 6 & 5 FINALISTS!

Congratulation to our overall Level 6 & 5 top 5 placements at the North Area Championships.

Level 6 – Mabli Grieves-Owen & Isabel Jones

Level 5 – Ciara Rowley & Bryony Tatlock

All four gymnasts will represent the North Area at the Level 6 & 5 Welsh Final in Cardiff on 15th & 16th October.

CONGRATULATIONS! Level 6 & 5 North Area Championships 2016.

Congratulations to all our gymnasts who competed this year at the above event.  Some notable mentions below: –

Level 6  achieved Team 4th, Courtney Williams 2nd on Vault with Naomi Jones 5th and Jessica Griffiths 6th on Floor.
Sam Font became Level 4 overall champion and competed so confidently and then in Level 5 Ciara Rowley became the North Area Vault and Bars champion. Bryony Tatlock came 3rd on Floor and 2nd on Bars and Alys Jones came 5th on Vault and the team including Amelia Marriott came FIRST overall!
On the Sunday our Novice 7 yr old’s competed brilliantly at their first 4 piece comp.
Level 6 8 yr old’s were also fantastic, lots of medals and ribbons. Team A – 3rd place, Team B coming in 2nd place.

Level 6 9 year old’s achieved Team Gold and Level 6 10/11 Team Bronze with Efa Grieves-Owen 3rd on bars and Mia Rowley 4th on floor.

Awards Season!

In 2015 YMGC won the following three awards for our success in 2015!

Welsh Gymnastics Club of the Year

Welsh Gymnastics Participation Coach of the Year  for Head Coach Catherine Rowley

Disability Sport Wales Insport Club of the Year

Our Elite Squad members showed off our awards in wearing brand new Milano Club Leotards – looking very smart girls!

 

Welsh Schools Tumble & Vault Final

Congratulations to our elite gymnasts who took part in the above competition on Monday 29th February in Cardiff.

All our gymnasts competed excellently earning the Eryri team 2nd place overall!

Special mention to gymnast Joel Wood who came 3rd overall in the Boy’s Under 11 category and to Rhea Williams & Efa Grieves-Owen who were part of the Girl’s Under 11 team who placed 2nd overall.

 

British Gymnastics Club Grades 6 & 5 Feb 2016

Our elite girls aged 8 & 9 in year recently took their Club Grades.  Six girls competed in Grade 6 all passing with a commendation.  Special mention goes to Mabli Grieves-Owen who passed with a distinction and earned a place on the North Area Team to compete in the Grade 6 Welsh Final in Llanelli in March.

All five gymnasts in Grade 5 passed, three with commendation.

North Area Boys Beginner & Intermediate Championships 2015

Our boys squad recently attended the above competition with tremendous success.  Our 6 year old competitors, George Williams and Louis Tatlock competed brilliantly in there first North Area Championships.  8 year old Jac Jones became the 8 year old North Area Champion, 9 year old Oliver Roberts places second in his category with placing in each apparatus and Joel Wood became the 10/11 North Area Champion.  Well done boys!

 

North Area Novice & Intermediate Competition 2015

All our elite squad gymnasts performed excellently at this competition with numerous individual apparatus medals won in the 8/9 and 12+ categories.  Special mention goes to the Under 8 2nd place overall winner Mabli Grieves-Owen and the 8/9 North Area Novice Champion Efa Grieves-Owen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Efa went on to compete fantastically at the Welsh Novice Final on Saturday 19th September 2015.

                

Ynys Mon Inter Island Games 2015 

This year the Inter Island Games competition was held right here in Holyhead!  Gymnasts from Åland, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Gotland, Isle of Man, Jersey and Shetland joined our Ynys Mon athletes to compete.
