Lymington River Scow Nationals at Keyhaven Yacht Club

Keyhaven Yacht Club hosted the 2010 Lymington River Scow Class Association National Championship in which 37 competitors took part; the entrants were split into three classes with Single fleet, Double handed and Juniors.

The weather conditions started in sunshine and a pleasant 12-14 knot breeze with a good sea state which gave the Race Officers Colin Dunford and Joe Blachford the opportunity to set some challenging courses but as the wind increased and the last race of three finished with 20 knots of wind.

On Sunday the winds increased although the weather was fine and sunny. Competitors were initially held on shore and the Race Officers postponed for an hour but eventually had to cancel the days Racing due to 24/26 knots winds. The prize giving took place in the Club House with prizes being presented by the Commodore of Keyhaven and Rear Commodore Sailing Kevin Sivyer. David Hayles thanked Keyhaven Yacht Club on behalf of the competitors and Mike Urwin expressed thanks on behalf of the Lymington River Scow Class Association
