A HISTORY OF WIBBANDUNE CRICKET CLUB
(formerly Wibbandune Sports Club)

Incorporating time spent masquerading as Roehampton 3rd XI, Fuller's League Team and Wimbledon Vikings

 Club Motto:

Nos hic ubi sunt alii

(We are here;  where are the others?)

Club Colours:    Royal Blue and White

This website aims to describe the activities that have taken place during the first 85 years of WIBBANDUNE CRICKET CLUB – within the bounds of the documentary material remaining.

Many of those who were involved with the club in its early days are now dead;  their memorabilia and memories have gone with them.  Other participants have moved on and not all have retained their links with the club in anticipation of this website.

Wibbandune Cricket Club archive material is therefore somewhat patchy, but there is enough to excite and please a few people and therefore make the exercise worthwhile.  If anyone reading this feels that they have a contribution to make - whether this is documentary or anecdotal - please contact Ray Stonehill.  All contributions will be very gratefully received, especially memories of good and bad times - your 179 not out, followed by 3 ducks, the tour that you cannot quite remember, or the excitement of a Wibbandune CC Annual General Meeting!  Please get in touch.

WIBBANDUNE SPORTS CLUB was formed in 1936 by a group of staff working for what was then Wimbledon Council.   etc etc etc
