The Sakura Bana Budo martial art exponents recently took part in their end of year grading day at the Milton Ulladulla basketball stadium in Milton and was attended by over 150 participants and spectators.

A total of 42 students graded on the day in Jodo and Aikido, three were awarded their black belts In jodo Leon Holstegge,Lorraine Harris and Jake De Salis. Darren Smith was awarded his 3rd Dan Jodo.
The clubs Tai Chi students showed their techniques and breathing through a kata demonstration. The aikido and jodo students demonstrated their techniques throughout the grading.
Competition on the day was outstanding with all students competing.
The results were: karate winners – beginner was Grace Donnelly, advanced - Tim Henderson, Jasper Hollands-Smith and Erin Tebbit, ground work winners- Olivia Chopping, Jasper Hollands-Smith, Fiene Schaap and Lucus Zunter and sumo winners- Dylan Henry and Stephan Matushka.
Trophy winners were: most improved beginner Taliesin Douglass, most improved Crosbie Patterson, male achievement Daniel Wall, female achievement Erin Tebbutt and best technique Neil Smith.
The sportsmanship award that has been awarded since 1975 was awarded to Malachi Hollands-Smith for his outstanding effort, his attendance in three classes per week and his overall improvement and dedication to his Martial arts and his Sensei.
He was also the highest point scorer of the year.
