Banwell Bowls Club held their internal triples competition at the weekend.

Preliminary matches were played on Saturday, with the final on Sunday turning into a dramatic contest.

Hilary Guckian and his team stormed off to a powerful start, picking up nine shots on the first two ends.

But a dogged fightback by Phil Villis and his team saw the scores levelled at 10-10 at the seventh end.

It was nip and tuck until the finish, with Villis, T Coleman and M Kirby claiming an 18-17 victory over Guckian, J Wright and T Byrne.
