During his lifetime the seventh Marquess of Bath happily invited more than 70 “wifelets” into his bed at Longleat House. In death it appears he was less keen to share his assets with them.

Bath, who ran Longleat Safari Park at his ancestral seat in Wiltshire, died last year aged 87 after contracting Covid-19 and has left £23 million in his will. It has emerged that most of the fortune will go to his widow, Anna, 77, and their children, with nothing for his mistresses, some of whom lived in cottages on the Longleat estate.
