What has Jason Donovan said about his father?

On March 24, 2022 Jason talked about his dad, and the sadness they both felt at Neighbours being axed.

Speaking on BBC Breakfast, he said: "I do think it’s sad, I don’t want to get into a running commentary, I’ve made comments about it. I think it’s time to celebrate Neighbours. It’s kept my family employed for a long time to be honest!

"My daughter is in it, so is my dad. We should be grateful for what it’s given Australia, actors, producers, writers, directors."

He added: "My father in the 70s fought very hard for Australian content in television because the government at the time wanted to bring cheaper exports in. As a result of that, we have productions like Neighbours."
