BEN SHOVLIN fired Kilmacud Crokes into seventh heaven.
Shovlin netted a fifth-minute goal as the host club beat Down side An Riocht by 1-11 to 1-9 in the Londis All-Ireland Football Sevens final last night.
Johnny Magee’s team remarkably registered all of their scores from play, including efforts from the wing by Dan O’Brien, and Niall O’Leary.
Crokes led by 1-6 to 0-5 at half-time, with Deaglan Morgan and Ronan Campbell keeping An Riocht in touch.
Keeper Pádraig Purcell extended the lead on the restart with the second of his three points. In their first final, An Riocht battled hard and grabbed an injury-time goal from Morgan to cut the gap to two points.
The Down outfit continued to cause Crokes problems as they searched for a winner.

However, O’Brien produced a well-timed block late on to seal a sixth crown for Crokes as Karl Dias lifted the Cup.
Afterwards, Crokes’ Cillian O’Shea was named the Londis Player of the Tournament.
