It comes as the This Morning host returned to screens following a two-week break amid the ongoing scandal to hit the station.

Josie Gibson joined telly fave Holly today as she put on a brave face to deliver a specially prepared statement addressing Phillip Schofield's departure.

But before the programme kicked off, the blonde presenter "flashed a number of fake smiles'' during a link-up with Lorraine's talk show.

Body language expert Darren Stanton praised sofa queen Lorraine for her "professionalism" and highlighted Holly's appearance was quite the opposite.

The ex-copper exclusively told the Scottish Sun: “It was business as usual for Lorraine as she spoke to Holly in the studio.

"There were no signs of stress or anxiety from the show. She was the height of professionalism and didn’t show any indication of masking any emotions.

"It was a totally professional piece to camera. She didn’t seem affected or phased by the elephant in the room.

However, the former detective drew attention to Holly's "anxiety" in the run-up to her sofa return.

Speaking on behalf of Slingo, Darren added: "Lorraine delivered the link as normal, however, it was Holly who looked the most anxious.

"Holly flashed a number of fake smiles, which indicated that she internally feels very nervous.

"She certainly wasn’t being genuine, whereas Lorraine showed the complete opposite.

"Her face was engaged and her smile was authentic during the quick segment.”

It comes after we revealed Lorraine could be in for a telly shake-up if breakfast fave This Morning is axed.

PR expert Andy Barr said: "If the show does get canned, it could well be that, in the short term, it will be good news for Lorraine Kelly who gets an extended slot.

"In the longer term though, I expect ITV would announce a total revamp of its entire morning TV offerings."
