Nobody was hurt as a result of the blaze.

But cops have called the fire raising "thoughtless and reckless" as they bid to catch the thugs responsible.

Investigating officer PC Claire Low from the Bridge of Don Community Policing Team said: "Although the premises were unoccupied at the time of the incident, such thoughtless and reckless behaviour has the potential to put the safety of others and their properties at risk, as well as the obvious financial implications for the owner of the buildings.

"Such dangerous and anti-social behaviour by those persons responsible will not be tolerated.

"I'm appealing for information from anyone who may have seen or heard anything in the area, between 11pm and 1am.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference CF0124380518. Information can also be given anonymously via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
