ABOUT

Sydney Wentworth is an artist living in New York City whose work seeks to etch change in space through the mechanics and methodics of storytelling. Through dance, she demonstrates motifs that reintroduce memories of intimacy and forgiveness. She studied under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield at The University of the Arts for her BFA in dance.

In performance, Wentworth has worked with Yasmeen Godder, Gerard & Kelly, Bobbi Jene Smith, Netta Yerushalmy, Sidra Bell, Jesse Zaritt, and Lauren Bakst. She performed in Paris with The University of the Arts at the Centre National de la Danse for CAMPING in addition to Alessandro Sciarroni’s workshop viewing in 2017.

After graduating Sydney participated in a manifestation of Jaamil Olawale Kosoko’s Movement Research’s MELT workshop The Transgressive Body as part of MoMA’s exhibit Judson Dance Theater: The Work is Never Done in 2019.
