Elliot Cowan is an award-winning animator, artist and educator. He is based in New York, NY. Born in Melbourne, Australia, he studied at the Independent College of Art and Design and the Victorian College of the Arts. Drawn to film, he spent time in Tasmania writing and directing commercials before moving to London to join Uli Meyer Animation in 2006. One year later, he moved to New York where he continued to draw, sculpt, and animate and develop his original characters.

He has collaborated with many major clients, including Sesame Workshop, Elizabeth Arden, Nathan Love, PBS, Ace and Son Moving Picture Company, and The Logo Network. Cowan’s work has been exhibited internationally and he also teaches animation and story development courses at The Pratt Institute, University of the Arts, Queens College, Mercy College and Sarah Lawrence College.
