TAUNTON Deane Bowling Club held their annual President's Day on Saturday April 22.
The day marked the opening of the outdoor green and the start of the Summer season.
It was a succesful day in relatively nice conditions in Taunton and the members enjoyed getting back into action.
President Chris Denner bowled the first outdoor wood after welcoming more than a hundred and twenty members to the event.
Eight rinks of outdoor and four rinks of indoor bowlers enjoyed a two hour session of bowling and were joined by social members afterwards for a superb afternoon tea.
The refreshments were followed by a raffle and all the proceeds of the afternoon, over £850, went to the President's charity, Prostate Cancer UK.
As part of the national Bowls' Big Weekend, Taunton Deane Bowling Club are holding an Open Day on Sunday 28th May 10.30am to 4pm.
All ages are welcome to go along and try the sport.
