Youth gymnastics roundup: Atlantic, NHAAG teams fare well

The Level 3 team from Atlantic Gymnastics of Portsmouth recently earned second place at the Valentine Masquerade Ball in Hampstead.

In the Love Bug division, Marin Morrison (fourth), Hadley Prewitt (sixth), Kendall Prewitt (eighth), Kaitlyn Rodriguez (nine) and Eva Hershey (11th) all placed among the top 11 in the all-around.

Sheyenne Nichols (seventh all-around), Avery Cole (ninth), Ava Lindsay (13th) and Ava Gruner (14th) led the way in the Cupid division.

All-around runner-up Cameron Zadravec paced the Sweetheart division with a first-place effort on bars. Other all-around finishers were Avery Dinges (fifth), Sierra Lignos (10th) and Shea Graham (11th).

In the Dove division, Maren Hennessey won all-around honors and placed first on beam and bars. Haley Salus took first on vault and fifth all-around. Other all-around competitors were Erin Eastwood (seventh), Lily Buono (eighth), Darla Mahoney (ninth) and Sarah Lindsay (10th).

The Level 3 team also traveled to the Sand Dollar Invitational in Orlando, Fla. Standouts included Morrison (10th, Junior A division), Dinges (ninth, Junior B division), Zadravec (eighth, Junior B division), Isabella Balfour (18th, Junior D division) and Hennessey (11th, Junior D division).

Level 4

Atlantic's Level 4 team placed third at the Valentine Masquerade Ball.

In the Love Bug division, all-around standouts included Amy Benson (fifth) and Gracie Hanson (14th). The Cupid Division saw all-around finishes from Mia Cheney (10th) and Lana Stutts (16th).

Gabriella Verno captured first place on beam in the Sweetheart division and finished third all-around. Other top overall finishers were Ellie Zielfelder (sixth), Zoe Zahn (eighth), Anya Bakin (ninth) and Sinead Dolan (12th),

The Doves division was led by Lucy Ferrini (fourth all-around) and Kaia Meredith (third). In the Arrows division, Gillian Croteau was ninth overall. Others included Francesca Toracinta (seventh), Elizabeth Toshach (fourth), Sarah Toshach (13th) and Madison Zadravec (sixth).

Level 5

The Level 5 team from Atlantic finished second at the Valentine meet in Hampstead.

Katherine Carter placed first on beam and took third overall in the Love Bug division. Other all-around finishers were Alysia Tellez (seventh) and Arianna Degenaars (10th).

In the Sweetheart division, Maddie Demmons was sixth all-around. The Cupid division saw strong results from Grace Toshach (second all-around), Cailey Brickett (third) and Cali McDonald (ninth).

The Level 5 team also visited Florida for the Sand Dollar Invitational.

Top finishers included Tellez (fourth, Junior A division), Carter (eighth, Junior A division), Demmons (seventh, Junior B division) and Grace Toshach (ninth, Senior B division).

Level 7

The Level 7 team from Atlantic competed at the Winter Carnival in Stratham and Brestyan's Invitational held at Tufts University.

In the Winter Carnival, Sarah Morin and Alicia Burchuk placed in the top of their age groups. Other top finishers included Gabbie Pitt (second on vault and beam), Malia Cryan (second on bars), Sophia Salter (fourth on beam), Anya Cunningham (first on floor), Dominique Chasse (third on bars) and Brooke McErlain (third on floor and second on bars).

At the Brestyan's Invitational, Cryan was first on vault and Burchuk secured gold medals on both vault and bars. Pitt was third on beam and all-around, while Morin placed third on vault. Chasse earned third on bars, McErlain took fourth on floor, Salter was sixth on beam and Cunningham placed third on floor.

NHAAG

The New Hampshire Academy of Artistic Gymnastics competed at the Houston National Invitational in Texas.

The Level 6 boys team saw all-around runner-up Reece Landsperger place first on bars, second on vault and high bar, and third on still rings. Xander Mavrikis was first on vault. On Level 7, Dylan Hale earned third place on high bar.

For the girls Level 7 team, Kristina Lantz was second on bars and Sammi DuBois earned fourth on beam.

On Level 9, MacKenzie Mencke placed second on beam and Baili Lagrua was fourth on beam.
