ROSEBANK – Grade 10 student Nikeda Sark has been selected as Westisle Composite High School’s Greco Pizza/Capt. Sub student-athlete of the month for April.

Nikeda, who plays and practises badminton year-round, won gold in singles and silver with Kiera MacKendrick in doubles in juvenile girls at the P.E.I. School Athletic Association championships.
The 15-year-old daughter of Shanna Sark from Lennox Island won two bronze medals at last summer’s North American Indigenous Games. She’s considering trying out for the P.E.I. Canada Games badminton team.
“She’s very committed, always shows up for practice and always gives her best effort,” said Nikeda’s high school badminton coach, Jackie Perry.
After graduating from high school, Nikeda says she’d like to study to become a pediatric nurse.
