Rye Juniors have been involved in two superb performances this week. On Monday the U11A team travelled to Folkestone to play their U11A team and just lost by one run. A really good performance by a team of whom half of them have at least another year in this age group. Charlie Cooke, 17, impressed with the bat and Bertie Furnival, Alex Welch and Luke Rogers each took a wicket.

Junior league wickets

On Tuesday, the U15s made it two wins in two with a 21 run victory over Boughton & Eastwell. Rye scored 114-9 with James Archer top scoring with 33. Rye dismissed Boughton for 93, thanks to Theo Burton who took 7-16 including a hat trick, and three wickets in four balls.

A big ‘thank you’ to Matt Cooke who has sponsored the junior stumps this season, which helps the provision of cricket to our five junior teams, including the fledgling girls section.

Hardball practice on Wednesday evenings 6pm – 8pm and softball sessions on Fridays 6pm – 8pm. Last Friday’s softball fell victim to the weather, so we start this Friday. You can turn up on Friday to the Diamond Koz Pavilion and join in.
