This is an extract from the Otters' application detailing why the funding was so important to them.

"Oswestry Otters Amateur Swimming Club is a well-established competitive club run totally by
volunteers. The clubs short term aim is to enhance the number of coaching staff within the club and
also develop current coaches. This has been identified as a priority risk to the club and will enable the
club to support an increase of the beginners swimming group numbers to maintain the future of the
club.

Coaches do not get paid and therefore to maintain the sustainability of the club we have to maintain the
numbers of coaching staff within the club. Recently two coaches have left and this puts extra strain on
other coaches. The project will achieve an increase of two level 1 coaches and also the development of
two level 1 coaches to level 2."

The MHBF is pleased to continue to support Oswestry Otters.
