With some training changes due to half term

Last weekend was a relatively quiet one for the club with 3 out of 3 wins for our league teams and no junior fixtures. All 3 league teams are placed at the top of their tables as they push for promotion with the Women leading on goal scoring with 141 goals for and only 2 against since the start of the season (closely followed by the M1s with 127 for and 9 against!)

Coming Up

Please note there is NO training for U16s, U18s or Adults this Thursday evening. All other sessions remain the same.

We are excited to welcome Rob Turner to Repton this Friday for a specialist GK clinic. Rob is England Hockey's National Age Group Boys Lead Goalkeeper Coach and has played and coached at international and national league levels. He is one of the first coaches to complete the GB Hockey Advanced Coach programme and we are really pleased he has agreed to come to Repton to work with our goalies in small groups and pass on some of his knowledge!
Mark Wadsley, our Head of Performance, is planning to organise more specialist clinics for our members over the coming months including a drag flicking master class and further GK sessions so keep an eye out for details on the website and club updates.

Weekend Fixtures

This Saturday is a league break weekend. Our M1s, who are reigning T2 EH Champions, travel to Wolverhampton for the next round of the T3 Championships (having been placed in a different competition this year due to league restructuring). The Women host University of Nottingham 2s in the next round of the Tier 2 Championships and would definitely welcome support in this important cup clash if you are able to come down and watch!

On Sunday our U12s continue their Area League matches with the girls travelling to Stourport and the boys to Sutton. Our U14 Girls and U16 Girls have long away trips to Taunton and Bath respectively for supra-league games and the U14 boys host Hertford in their next supra-league match up.

Thank you to all those players who promptly accepted selection on the app for these games and please remember if there are any changes to availability after you have accepted selection then contact Head Coach asap - do not just change your availability on the app. It is a big commitment from the players (and transporting parents!) to travel so far for games but it is does mean that the players are able to face different, and often more challenging opposition, and the supra-leagues have given the junior teams more competitive match play this season (something that was a feedback point from our 2020/21 member survey).
