THE cream of Bulmershe Gymnastics Club are heading to South Korea today to take part in the 2016 Aerobic Gymnastics World Championships and World Age Group Competitions.

A dozen of the club's elite gymnasts will be representing the Great Britain national squad in the week-long tournament in Incheon, which starts on Monday.

The group has benefitted from tremendous backing from the local community plus donations towards the cost of the trip.

It is estimated the cost of sending each gymnast to South Korea is £1,200 - most of which is funded by parents.

Trina Farrance, Head of Coaching Development & Operations, said: "Bulmershe gymnastics club is very proud of the gymnasts that are representing Great Britain.

"This is an amazing opportunity for the young gymnasts at our club to experience, not only competing for their country, but learn many life skills from this trip.

"All the gymnasts have dedicated many hours of training over the last year to qualify for this event and this hard work has paid off.

"Many of these gymnasts have grown up in the club watching the older gymnasts travel across the world.

"Now this is their time to benefit from this amazing opportunity."
