RAMS RFC are delighted to announce a pre-season double-header against Welsh Premiership side Aberavon and local rivals Bracknell on Saturday, August 12.

It will follow the same successful format as last year’s games with London Welsh and Barnes, with Rams putting out two sides for games at 2pm and 4pm.

Aberavon finished sixth in their national league last term, and are a historic club founded in 1876.

They have come close to beating New Zealand (5-11 in 1954), Australia (3-5 in 1957) and South Africa (3-8 in 1931), while they also have international scalps in Italy (13-4 in 1976) and Samoa (21-11 in 1988).

Bracknell, meanwhile, are well-known and longstanding rivals of Rams, with the Lily Hill men finishing eighth in Regional One South Central last season.

There will be free entry for both games, with bars opening at 12.30pm.
