Baramati, 17th April 2024: Sunetra Pawar, the wife of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, expressed her disappointment at the intrusion of family relations into politics. She emphasized that election periods involve accusations and counter-accusations, but these are limited to the campaign period, and relationships will improve afterwards. Sunetra Pawar, who is running as a candidate from the Baramati Constituency on behalf of the Mahayuti, expressed confidence that relations would improve post-elections.

While campaigning in the Khadakwasla constituency, Sunetra Pawar met former Pune MP Pradeep Rawat and held a press conference afterwards. She acknowledged that the election process includes accusations and counter-accusations, but emphasized that these tensions would subside after the election period. Sunetra noted that her campaign in the Baramati Constituency has covered all talukas and received positive feedback. She hopes to receive a significant majority of votes.

Regarding local issues, Sunetra addressed unresolved matters such as MIDC in Bhor and the international airport in Purandar. She pledged to address these concerns and highlighted her experience in social work, stating her intention to replicate the development pattern established in Baramati taluka across the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency.

She affirmed her commitment to representing voters’ concerns in Parliament and addressing women empowerment, farmers, and youth employment issues. As president of Baramati Hi-Tech Textile Park Ltd, Sunetra has provided opportunities for 3,500 women and has been involved in various social and environmental initiatives, such as the Katewadi Gram Swachhata Abhiyan.

Sharad Pawar Enters Baramati Election Race

In Baramati, the attention of the state and the country is on Sharad Pawar’s entry into the election arena as a candidate from the Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. Sunetra Pawar of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) represents the Mahayuti, while Supriya Sule, the current NCP MP, represents Mahavikas Aghadi. The participation of Sharad Pawar in the election has drawn significant attention.

Meanwhile, the ‘Baghtoy Rickshawala’ organization in Pune has announced candidates for four constituencies in Pune district. This includes Sharad Pawar, a rickshaw driver running for Baramati constituency. Additional candidates include a tempo driver, a cab driver, and a food delivery boy from different constituencies. Keshav Kshirsagar, President of the Baghtoy Rickshawala Association, plans to hold a campaign meeting on April 18 to support these candidates.

Kshirsagar criticized political parties for not taking the demands of workers such as rickshaw drivers, tempo drivers, cab drivers, and food delivery workers seriously. He emphasized that their movement would continue through the electoral process and that the collective strength of four lakh gig workers and their 1.6 lakh family members in the four Lok Sabha constituencies would make their voices heard by supporting these candidates.
