THE annual Liverpool Penguins Swimming Club Macmillan Charity Gala took place at Everton Park Sports Centre in Liverpool with Halton Swimming Club’s U12s squad taking on teams from Liverpool Penguins, Crosby, Garston, Bridgefiel­d and Bootle & North Liverpool SC.

This is a gala that Halton have performed particular­ly well in over the past few years and 2017 was no different with the latest batch of youngsters putting in a fantastic per- formance to dominate the gala from start to finish

Out of the 50 races Halton recorded no less than 26 first place finishes, nine runners-up spots and two third places.

Halton collected the winner’s shield and also claimed first place in the boys’ canon team. ● The final standings were: 1. Halton SC (244pts); 2. Liverpool Penguins (193pts); 3. Crosby SC (189pts); 4. Garston SC (176pts); 5. Bridgefiel­d SC (125pts); 6. Bootle & North Liverpool SC (112pts). . ●
