GYMNASTICS: GREENHILL GIRLS SET BAR HIGH ACROSS REGION
Girls from Greenhill Gymnastics Club’s four-piece artistic squad have been competing in competitions around Kent and the South East. For some of the club’s youngest gymnasts it was their first time competing at a major championship and they performed well, showing great maturity in both their attitudes and performances. The competitions included the Kent championships, the South East regional championships and the British Challenge Cup championships. The girls were rewarded for all their hard work by returning 11 gold medals – including five Kent champion titles and a South East regional team champion title. Their tally also included 14 silver medals, 11 bronzes, eight fourth places, a fifth place and four sixth places. Greenhill girls took a haul of trophies PHARON INDOOR CRICKET LEAGUE
RESULTS Seniors Division 1 Gravesend 113-5 (A Chand 34 not, S Raina 31; A Back 2-17); Canterbury 2 72 (B Rutherford 41, A Beck 20). Gravesend won by 41 runs. Street End 1 86-5 (J Goldbacher 24, T Stewart 14, P Marsh 13 not, S Gransden 12; A Chand 2-22) Gravesend 92-0 (A Rana 25 ret, S Ohri 25 ret, S Singh 19 not, I Padiyar 13 not). Gravesend won by six wickets. Canterbury 1 150-3 (J Macvicar 68 not, T Davis 35 not, O Bone 17, S Burr 14) Sturry 1 29 (O Bone 2-6). Canterbury won by 121 runs.
