Auchinleck pair bid for Scotland U25 call- ups

Auchinleck seniors beat Lanarkshir­e 64- 61 away. Scores: W McLatchie 13, A G Murray 17; J Fleming 15, M McPartland 14; E Duncan 13, P Jones 20; B McArthur 23, J Keating 10.

The ladies lost 81- 80 away to Blantyre. Scores: H Kay 22, S Hamilton 18; J Williamson 20, C Walker 26; C Johnston 20, E Young 18; M Shimmons 18, F Walker 19.

The gents beat East Kilbride 93- 72 at home. Scores: D McClue 24, S Fair 16; S Rankin 23, K Clinton 18; D Ferguson 26, J Orr 20; J Gibson 20, D McDonald 18.

The U35s beat Paisley 79- 72 at Ardrossan. Scores: D Ferguson 18, C Taggart 20; C McClue 29, G McLeod 12; J Leitch 17, M McLeese 21; S Gemmell 15, G Sloan 19. Scoring is two points a winning rink and two for overall shots. Auchinleck lost 6- 4.

Liz Hume and Margaret Bingham lost 13- 12 to Paisley in SIBA ladies senior pairs while Josephine Williamson beat F Walker ( Blantyre) 21- 14 in the senior singles.

Eddie Duncan, Jim McCracken, Derek Monaghan and Jim Burns lost 21- 11 to Ardrossan in their first match in the senior fours.

On Saturday, the seniors play Dumbarton. Rink 1: D Monaghan, C Provan, D Weir, W McArthur; Rink 2: D Jagodowski, B Lopez, R Dunsmuir, J Fleming; Rink 3: G Reid, W Dalgleish, D Mitchell, W McLatchie; Rink 4: J Sloan, C Cathie, J McCracken, E Duncan.

The ladies host Paisley while the gents head to Cumbernaul­d, both from 2- 6pm.

Prestwick gents continued their impressive start with a 88- 64 home win over Allander.

Stuart Reid and Craig Cobbledick guided their rinks to victory which was more than enough to cancel out defeats for Mark Kerr and Darren Weir’s rinks.

On Saturday, the gents face closest challenger­s the West of Scotland at the Glasgow club.

The seniors lost 63- 60 at home to leaders Paisley despite leading for most of the match. Stan Gibson was the only winning skip.

On Saturday, the ladies chase their first two points of the season when they entertain Blantyre.

David Brown, Hector Berretti, Jim Fortune and Morris Sturgeon beat Inverclyde 18- 13 in the national senior fours and now play Ayr at East Kilbride on Sunday, November 27.

Sunday sees the start of the Under 35s with Prestwick teaming up with Ayr to form a team to take on Dumbarton and Inverclyde at Whiteinch.

All players to report to Prestwick for noon and are reminded to wear a plain white top and not club colours.

In the senior nationals, Ayr’s four beat Falkirk 21- 8 at East Kilbride to book a second round tie against Prestwick.
