The nonprofit Aquamotion Ability Foundation stages the sessions — which are popular among older residents — at four venues across the city, including the pool at Riverside’s Shamel Park.

The program allows “even the most seriously disabled people to move and enjoy exercise without the danger of injury because of falls,” a news release states.

Participants also enjoy sunshine and the friendship of others, the release states. Students, who range in age from 24 to 94, do exercise that includes cardio workouts and gentle water walking.
