A disappointing season for Hindhead ended with a sound beating at home to Badshot Lea. Winning the toss the away side elected to bat and racked up an imposing 232 for the loss of just one wicket. The star of the show was Ben Gray, who carried his bat and hit plenty of big blows all around the ground as he ended on a brilliant 159*. Gray was well supported by fellow opener Sam Dixon (57) who became Hindheads only success as he was stumped by Carter off Ben Thorne.
In reply Hindhead scored steadily, whilst losing regular wickets to good spells from Dan Addison (2-43) and in particular Matt Bent (4-26). Jack Hamilton (20), Chris Stokes (33) and in particular Matt Jeffs (43) all made good contributions for the home side, however the normally reliable lower order subsided against good bowling from Bent, as Hindhead were dismissed for 143 from 43.4 overs.
A difficult season for Hindhead who nonetheless have stuck together and look forward to a positive season in Division Three next season.
