The 2024 Annual General Meeting of our parent club, Helsby Community Sports Club will take place this Wednesday, 24th April at 7.30pm.

Whilst appreciating that for many of you, our rugby members will either simply want to train and play this great game of ours - or in the case of our Junior parents, fetch your children down to do likewise - on a few occasions we need to ask for your support. Even if you are unable to attend this Wednesday's AGM in person, we would like to use the opportunity to raise awareness of how our parent club is operating, so please read on and there are a couple of minor asks that we'll request, which won't require much of your time.

Firstly, please take five minutes to read this year's Annual Report, which is available here.

Secondly, there are a number of resolutions that will be voted upon at the meeting, albeit that if you aren't able to attend in person then electronic voting will be open until Saturday 27th April. We need the members approval to proceed on these matters, so if you cannot attend the meeting in person then please vote electronically. This is a two-stage process : Firstly, email Club Secretary, Phil Gillard at Phil@helsbysports.co.uk requesting to vote. Phil will then issue instructions to you within the next 24 hours and you will then be able to vote, which should take no more than a few minutes.

Finally, if you are able to attend Wednesday's meeting in person at the club then please do so. This will be a forum of all of the resident sporting club members - Bowls, Football, Running, Snooker, Tennis and ourselves - so we need to ensure that Rugby is well represented by our own membership.

We have made superb progress as a Rugby club in the last three years, however, we still have much work to do to maximise our potential and our residency at Helsby Community Sports Club, working alongside the other sports clubs is critical in ensuring a prosperous future for ourselves.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Chris Johnson
Chairman, Helsby RUFC
