U8's v Warriors & Parkside

There was some fantastic rugby from all teams involved.

Max Grinhaff put on an excellent performance from the very start with his strong running and tackling. This was obviously seen by the opposition as he was awarded the first oppositions man of the match and he was also awarded the magic moment for his never give up defence. He also picked up 6 tries and made 22 tackles to complete a fantastic outing.

The second opposition man of the match went to the Vic's powerhouse Jack Kirkaldy. He tackled well but it was his strong running that really helped his team as he time and time again burst through the line to either score or set up his team in a strong position. He finished the game with a four try tally for his team.

There was a excellent tackling display from Harley Aston, but he was just shaded for top tackler by Alfie Davison. His tackling technique was excellent all morning as he constantly brought down the opposition with tackles around the legs. He also contributed a hat trick of tries for his team.

Charlie Orr collected the 100% effort award for both his strong running and his fantastic try saving tackles. Despite some hard tackles early on there wasn't a blade of grass he didn't cover and he took the opposition into touch on a couple of occasions.

The first coaches man of the match went to Josh Grogan on his farewell performance for Birstall. He ran well throughout the game and worked well for his team. Despite not getting over the try line for his team he was able to get them into some good positions.

The second Man of the match went to Jack Pickles. He led his team all over the field and distributed well from acting half back with some fast play the balls. He also contributed in both defence and attack. One such instance was him driving a opposition player back from his own line back to halfway. He finished the game with a very impressive 21 tackles and 5 tries.

The other try scorers were Harrison Stevens (5), Archie Walker (2),Alfie Watson (1) and Harley Aston (3)
